Adventure! Day 12 - Lake City
The British are coming! Except it’s the Hoys and Damien and Kayleigh. Lydia and my mom went into town (an hour’s drive) to receive them and help with groceries and such. They left at 11. We had a nice short visit this morning before they left, as our house did not wake up until 9.
The original plan was to walk over to the McNeese house for coffee when we woke up, but as I woke up with a massive headache and got out of breath sitting up, I decided against a walk and made coffee instead. So they biked over to us, and we visited on the porch with a view of the mountains.
We’ve had such a nice day of puttering around, cooking small meals in the kitchen, doing laundry and walking to the river to swim. Well, some of us did swimming. Today I get out of breath going up the stairs.
The Hoys dropped off Damien and Kayleigh and picked up Victoria, then headed to their place to unpack.
Damien has been here 5 minutes and he’s already asleep.
Sadly, he did not arrive to a hot meal. The very good news of today is that I have been reunited with my pillow - God’s in his heaven and all’s right with the world.
We made a hot meal. I didn’t like it, but everyone else said it was good. Cooking at 9000ft hits different. After dinner we met everyone at the park and we all went in the river. It was cold but not too cold.
Maybe tomorrow we will go to the lake. For now, it’s 8:00 and I keep yawning. Tonight, we sleep. Tomorrow - more adventure.
