Adventure! Day 19 - Sunrise at Bryce Canyon and Drive to Las Vegas

The alarm went off at 6.

After looking at the stars, we went back to our rooms to sleep for an hour. Eli said something at 5 that was so funny that I had a really hard time falling asleep because I kept thinking about it and cracking up.

The sunrise over the mountain range is not the same as over the ocean. Even though sunrise was listed to start at 6:22, we didn’t see the first of it until about 6:26. The sky was getting lighter already at 5 when we walked back to the rooms to sleep for a minute before the sunrise. When we walked over to the rim at 6, it was bright and we didn’t need flashlights to see.

As soon as the sun came up, we left to stand in line for coffee. Coffee and breakfast were pretty mid and now we will go sleep for a few hours. Hopefully.

We slept. All of us. I think we should get a gold star. Or travel bingo. Or something. And we woke up at 10:45 and made it out of our room by 11:05 with nothing left behind. Now we are all in the lodge proper - paperworking, sorting out car insurance issues amid some serious tech issue in the world, and blogging. Victoria has found a piano and Alivia, Kayleigh, and Torie are singing and playing. People keep walking by and then turning around, stopping and watching.

We had lunch before we got on the road. Grilled cheese/burgers. Eli drove the first part before we needed gas and then Damien took the wheel. This ride doesn’t feel too long. We are about 2.5 hours away. People are gaming, sleeping, and I’m writing. I’m about to do a crossword with Tara. We started on the hard ones and we are not as good at them as we are at the easy ones.

We have arrived in Las Vegas. It was less than 100 degrees when we arrived; now at 11, it’s 91. The drive was easy and we didn’t have any slowdowns. Tomorrow we will explore the hotel and then go to see a show.
